Service Update

Shared Ride Service Reductions

On October 1, 2026, in an effort to contain costs and create efficiencies, we will be implementing service reductions.

Shared Ride Service Reductions Include

  • Reduced Hours of Service. Shared Ride service will end at 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday and at 6:00 PM on Saturdays.
  • Reduced Service to Pittsburgh. Limited service to and from downtown Pittsburgh will be provided at designated times on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Passengers living in Central and Northern Washington County can also access service at designated times on Mondays.  Shared Ride Service to and from Pittsburgh on Fridays and Saturdays will no longer be provided.
  • Elimination of Early Morning Long-distance trips. Shared Ride run-times with limited ridership operating in the early morning hours will be discontinued.  This includes trips originating from outlying areas of Washington County (such as communities in the Mon Valley, Southeast, and West) traveling into the greater Washington and Canonsburg areas.  It also includes trips originating from the greater Washington and Canonsburg areas traveling into outlying areas of the County.  Service will continue to be provided at other designated times during the weekdays to accommodate these trip requests.
  • Reduced Holiday Service. Shared Ride service will no longer be provided on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day except for trips to dialysis centers, ending at noon.
  • Shared Ride service will continue to operate as normal through September 30, but we encourage passengers to begin planning for this transition.

Reducing service hours was a difficult decision. However, it will help us continue serving our community with the resources available to us. Like many transit agencies across Pennsylvania, we are facing rising costs while funding has not kept pace. To keep Shared Ride service available to as many people as possible, we must make these initial changes to how the service is provided. We continue to explore long-term strategies to sustain this service. Over the next year, we expect to make additional changes, including increasing fares.

Please note, these changes only impact riders using the Shared Ride service.  No changes are planned for the Fixed Route service at this time.
