Notice of Fare Increase

Effective April 1, 2023, Freedom Transit fares will be increasing due to the rising costs of operating service over the last four years.

The chart below identifies the new copays that you will be charged depending on whether you are registered as a Person with a Disability (PwD) age 18-64, a Senior over the age of 65, or an ADA Complementary Paratransit passenger. Fares will still be based on the number of miles an individual is traveling by the most direct route on roads (not how far you ride on a Freedom Transit vehicle).

Trips to senior centers and adult day care for registered passengers 60 years of age and older will continue at no charge due to continued sponsorship from the SW PA Area Agency on Aging. In addition, the SW PA Area Agency on Aging will continue to sponsor medical trips for registered passengers 65 years of age and older, so that an individual will still pay 7.5% of the total fare.

Shared Ride Fare Increase

Effective April 1, 2023, Freedom Transit fares will be increasing due to the rising costs of operating service over the last four years.

The chart below outlines the fare increase (approximately $0.25 - $0.50 per trip).

ADA Complementary Service will increase from $2.55 to $3.00 per trip.
